Format compatibilityAug 8, 2026
If a photo came from an iPhone and Windows will not open it, the file is usually HEIC, not broken. My rule: install support if this is your own PC; convert to JPG if you need to send, upload, print or hand it to someone else.
Upload workflowAug 8, 2026
When an image upload fails, I do not start by changing the filename or trying ten random tools. I check the destination limit, resize the pixels, convert to a safe format, then compress the delivery copy.

I would not replace iLoveIMG just because another tool exists. I would replace it when the job is narrower than iLoveIMG: make this image smaller, resize it, convert it, or turn a set of images into a PDF without getting stuck in a broad editor workflow.

Convertio is a good broad converter. But if credits, queues, or a universal-file interface slow down a simple image job, I would rather choose the tool by the next destination: upload form, web page, JPG delivery, or PDF submission.

TinyPNG is still good. But when its 5 MB file limit, 20-image batch limit, or 3 free conversions get in the way, I would rather recommend tools that solve the actual blocker.
